Overview: The first two weeks of May are fairly busy and energetic, especially for the full moon on 5/8 and also on 5/15-16. Congratulations, we are half way between the spring and summer equinox! Time to look more deeply at whatever we initiated this spring, and make swift and sound decisions on what we will and won’t carry forward into the summer and fall.
May 1: Happy May Day/ Beltane! Revelry and fires suggested to celebrate the fullness of spring. Traditionally Beltane is honored with a bonfire to both purify and bless us for a productive growing season. Drink in from nature’s stunning examples of abundance and passion.
5/2…Today marks a sense of completion for a dynamic and fiery relationship cycle that started around 2/5 and was revisited on around 4/3. What have you purged? What kind of boundaries have you needed to set? How are you better integrating authenticity in your relationships and what patterns of isolation/defensiveness/anger have been transformed?
A new way…5/3-5/4…reveals itself. Allow your heart to guide innovations arising now which support greater freedom in your life.
Even if the odds are against you…5/5…Don’t give up. Reflect on the value of your past experiences and enjoy the rewards of recent efforts to bring more order and discipline to your life.
The trickster walks backwards…5/6..We may not be clear on whether we are coming or going today with Mercury turning retrograde (until 5/30) in Gemini. The rest of May is a great time to complete unfinished business, especially writing/communication projects that you have had to put on the back burner. Research and call up people from your past for advice and insight. Mercury retrograde is a time when we simply do not have all the information we need to make decisive action, and typically we need to slow our pace to review and reflect. By the end of May/early June patience is rewarded with a juicy, unexpected option.
5/7-5/8…Full Moon in Scorpio…Appearances may be deceiving for the full moon on 5/8, while passion runs high. Adjustments to our expectations are needed to take advantage of the fertility in the air. Time to come back to our values and priorities so that short term thinking is better aligned and connected with long term goals and dreams. Cut out distractions by thinning the seedlings you started this spring to ensure an abundant harvest later on.
Run Free…5/9-5/10…Explore and expand your perspective this weekend by getting outside, taking a class, checking out the path less traveled. If miscommunications come up, let go of being right and aim towards a shared discovery of the common yearning underneath the words.
Spring cleaning…5/11…Embrace the fire under you to clean up and de-clutter. We have the tenacity to bring more cleanliness, accountability, and organization into our world.
Get ‘er done…5/12-13…the drive continues for completion, specifically with endeavors started prior to May. Enjoy your ability to prioritize, but be careful of over scheduling yourself and leave space to flexibility.
5/14…Mercury heads back into Taurus today, where it will be until 6/13.We may need to revisit conversations we started around 4/9. Use the next month to bring simplicity and mindfulness to your resources, such as reviewing budgets and revisiting financial goals.
5/15-5/16…Time to revisit plans started at the end of December 2008, and review our progress thus far. Get rid of what is no longer working and be open for some exciting insights and ideas for the next steps. The rest of the month is a great time to research and test any major overhauls you may be contemplating.
